Victoria smashes record for daily increase in coronavirus cases with 428 new infections

Victoria recorded yet another record daily increase of new coronavirus infections on Friday.


Victoria on Friday announced 428 new coronavirus cases, smashing the previous record for the single biggest daily increase for a state or territory by 100. 

Premier Daniel Andrews also announced three more people - a man in his 80s, a man in his 70s and a woman in her 80s - have died from the virus.
