Adding guacamole boosts your dating profile

If you heart guacamole, others might just heart you back.

Avocados, millennials and houses have been under scrutiny of late, but it's time for this stone fruit to break-free and sit back and bask in the love it's bringing to people far and wide. If you're a believer that love and food go hand-in-hand, now there's proof!

According to a new study conducted by online dating site Zoosk, simply mentioning "guacamole" on a person's dating profile increased their messages received by 144 per cent.  The study analysed 3,733,185 dating profiles and 364,609,566 first messages to find out which occasions and foods, in particular, impacted positively on profiles and compatibility.
"Potatoes" were the next favourite with 101 per cent, followed by, chocolate (no surprises there) at 100 per cent. From there it was salad, sushi and back to avocado (this time on its own).

So they're the foods that have a little love on their side, but whatever you do don't mention yams or fried chicken (I thought fried chicken was love?), because these resulted in a decrease in message rate, yams at 70 per cent and fried chicken at 15 per cent.  Needless to say, it looks like not all root vegetables are destined for romance, neither is fried protein, poor chicken.

Other revelations (or perhaps not for some): proteins are super-popular, eggplants, biscuits and sausages were the top three foods to mention in private messages and adding that you're a foodie or talking about cooking will also result in more message love.

Another reason to celebrate food and love together and next time you're questioning whether to splurge on that extra guac, the heart wants what the heart wants.

Don't mind me...

From guac with love

A good guacamole is a source of velvety delight and this version is so simple. It’s worth seeking out the big starchy plantain bananas to create some of the best chips in the universe and this is a great way to chip and dip in the summertime.

The tostada may be a simple dish, but it encapsulates Mexican food perfectly. Top your tortillas with a base of beans, lettuce, tomato, sour cream and a choice of red or green chilli sauce. Then schmooze that guac on at the very end.

After so many years, it still knows how to shake things up. Peas in guacamole may outrage traditionalists, but it adds extra texture and sweetness here. It's a great complement to the bright crunch of the raw sugar snaps, zucchini and corn. Get this bowl and be happy!

Fresh and made from scratch with your own two hands, this interpretation of chicken tacos has just the right kick of spice thanks to the almighty guac. This is one taco that's got the crispy down pat.

This grilled portobello mushroom burger is the simplest, most natural and delicious piece of food you can put inside a burger bun. It is big, chewy and actually strikingly burger-looking and topped with guacamole, fresh tomatoes, sprouts and a fruity salsa it's stacking up to its potential.
