Tasmanian Wagyu steak

    Ingredients

    Wagyu beef steaks
    Sea salt
    Black pepper
    Untoasted sesame oil
    2 cloves of garlic, sliced

    Instructions

    Remove steak from fridge at least 1 hour before. Season with sea salt and freshly ground black pepper.

    Heat oil in frypan over low heat, add garlic cloves and gently cook for a minute to flavour oil. Remove garlic and discard.

    Gently place steak into frying pan and cook, then turn carefully until cooked.

    Slice steak into pieces and serve with lime, chives, sea salt and freshly grated wasabi

    Cook's Notes

    Oven temperatures are for conventional; if using fan-forced (convection), reduce the temperature by 20˚C. | We use Australian tablespoons and cups: 1 teaspoon equals 5 ml; 1 tablespoon equals 20 ml; 1 cup equals 250 ml. | All herbs are fresh (unless specified) and cups are lightly packed. | All vegetables are medium size and peeled, unless specified. | All eggs are 55-60 g, unless specified.
