About 1.9 million citizens are left in limbo as they are out of the final citizen list, NRC of Assam, India. Various discussions are going on the fate of people who lost to get a place in the NRC and labelled as illegal 'Bangladeshi migrant'. Geo-Political and Security Analyst of Bangladesh Major General (Retd) Mohammad Ali Sikder speaks to SBS Bangla in this regard.

Major General (retd) Mohammed Ali Sikder believes that the issue of citizenship is an internal matter of India. He doesn't see anything in it that Bangladesh needs to be concerned about.

"There was no reason why the relationship between Bangladesh and India could be complicated."

"Those who have been dropped will take a long time to settle in court. Therefore, it is not desirable to raise concerns about the internal affairs of India while they are friendly with us."

"What Myanmar is doing to the Rohingya, it is not possible for a democratic country like India to do so because there is opposition about this citizenry issue among the civic body."
