COVID-19 update: Two new COVID-19 deaths recorded in NSW

This is your update on the Coronavirus in Australia for 25 July 2021.

  • NSW records two more deaths from COVID-19.  
  • All new cases in Victoria are linked to the current outbreak. 
  • Federal government secures extra 85 million Pfizer COVID-19 doses
  • In South Australia lockdown end is on track. 

New South Wales

NSW has recorded 141 new locally acquired cases. Two people have died, a woman in her 70s, and a woman in her 30s who did not have pre-existing conditions, Premier Berejikilian said. 

NSW will receive additional 50,000 Pfizer COVID-19 doses. In the meantime, a special police unit has been set up to identify those attending yesterday's protests, with 510 penalty infringement notices have already been issued.

Victoria

Victoria has recorded 11 new locally cases, all of those were in quarantine throughout their period of infection and are linked to current outbreaks. 

Authorities are yet to confirm easing of COVID-19 restrictions on Tuesday, 27 July.
