Another severe wave could bring us back to square one: Australia's top doctor on ending mandatory isolation

Australians have mixed views on ending mandatory isolation. But Australian Medical Association's President Professor Steve Robson says it was not the right time to end restrictions that saved lives. He says rising cases in the northern hemisphere will likely impact Australia as travellers head into a holiday season. He tells SBS that Australia already has a "monumental backlog" of patients and healthcare workers need a break. He believes another wave could be alarming for vulnerable Australians and bring us back to square one.
