PH Embassy in Australia shares a year-end message, reflects on strengthened ties between the two countries

The Philippine Embassy highlights collaborative achievements and strengthened ties with Australia.

Philippine Ambassador to Australia Ma. Hellen dela Vega shares a year-end message to all Filipinos in Australia.

Ambassador Ma. Hellen De La Vega expressed gratitude on behalf of the women and men of the Philippine Foreign Service Posts in Australia, extending wishes for a joyous Christmas and a prosperous New Year to more than 400,000 Filipinos residing in the country.

In a statement released today, the Philippine Embassy in Australia highlighted the collaborative achievements and strengthened ties between the Philippines and Australia over the past year.
In the past twelve months, our leaders and high-level officials met and discussed our common aspirations for our people and our region.

'They committed to working closer together to address current and emerging challenges, strengthen our governance institutions, and create more opportunities for growth and development,’ the ambassador said.

On 8th September 2023, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese visited Manila and signed the Strategic Partnership with Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., marking a significant milestone in strengthening the bilateral ties between the two countries.

The statement also mentioned that this year witnessed the cooperative activities of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Australian Defence Force, ‘to advance shared advocacies and make meaningful contributions to regional peace, stability, and prosperity.’
Amb. De La Vega noted the expansion of ‘connectivity and the opening of fresh avenues for tourism, mobility, research, and innovation, trade and investment, ensuring the sustainability and resilience of industries, markets, and livelihoods.’

As the year draws to a close, the Philippine Embassy in Australia looks forward to continued collaboration and growth in the bilateral relationship, reinforcing the enduring friendship between the two nations.
