Filipinos living or working overseas can continue SSS or Social Security System contributions and will be able to access benefits at retirement age.

Key Points
  • SSS benefits range from 'maternity to eternity'; maternity payments, loans to pension.
  • Filipinos overseas can continue or top up their contributions through the 'pension booster' program.
  • If you have a GSIS account but was not able to complete the required 15 years of government service, you are able to continue your contributions through SSS.
Bobby Roldan, Head, Asia, Americas and Pacific Division,Social Security System explains how every Filipino can continue contributions or access SSS benefits.
You do not need dual citizenship to receive SSS benefits. You only need to register online (you are not required to travel to the Philippines) and have a valid savings account in the Philippines.
