Australian families will now have access to cheaper child care from next year as the federal government officially raises it subsidy.

  • The new childcare law passed through the House of Representatives after the Senate agree to amendments
  • From July 2023, the subsidy will lift from 85 per cent to 90 per cent for families with a combined income of less than $80,000.
  • Early Education Minister Ann Aly says this law will deliver on the Albanese government's election promise to help families with the cost of living and will boost women in the workforce.
