People like to vote in Australia. You can say that is a sign of good democracy. In Queensland next month - federal elections next year - and Local Council Elections in NSW tomorrow. There is not much interest in these elections in 126 constituencies, to be honest. Some critics even say that the councils are old-fashioned and should be abolished. Mithra Cox was on the Council of the industrial and port city of Wollongong for seven years. She says the Council elections are really important.
