A bug in an update at cyber security company Crowdstrike based in Austin, Texas caused system failures globally. In addition to SBS and ABC, large banks and many other companies, for example, were also affected. But how could an outage of this magnitude occur? And what options are there anyway to avoid such failures? Cyber security expert Professor Carsten Rudolph at Monash University provides answers.
