According to a statement bu the archdiocese, the series comprises four stamps, which depict four heroic clerical figures of our Orthodox Church, who fought for the freedom of our homeland.

The faces depicted on the stamps are portraits created by the Greek artist, Ms Angela Konstantinopoulos, which were created for this purpose.

More precisely, the stamps depict:

  • Patriarch Gregory V: ethnomartyr and saint of the Orthodox Church,
  • Metropolitan Palaion Patron Germanos,
  • Bishop Isaiah of Salona, and
  • Archimandrite Grigorios Dikaios-Flessas (Papaflessas).
Those who are interested may purchase the anniversary stamps from Australian Post Offices as well as from the bookstores of the Holy Archdiocese of Sydney and Melbourne, and will soon be available for purchase online, concludes the announcement by the Archdiocese.
