Residents in northern Victoria are on alert after storms hit the state, with several towns receiving amounts of water equivalent to three months' worth of rainfall in one day.


Thousands of residents in Victoria are on flood alert with river levels expected to peak after record rainfall across the state.

Rochester, Seymour and Yea were evacuated yesterday as authorities continue to monitor the entire situation, while flood warnings and further evacuations remain in place.

Homes and businesses have been flooded and communities have been isolated after storms hit parts of the state.
