חשש להתפרצות של נגיף עופות חדש שעלול להגיע לאוסטלריה

המרכז האוסטרלי למוכנות למחלות Australian Centre for Disease Preparedness מתכונן להגעתו הפוטנציאלית של נגיף H-5-N-1. הארגון CSIRO Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation זיהה שלוש התפרצויות שונות של שפעת העופות באוסטרליה, כל אחת מהן נגרמת על ידי זנים שונים, אך האירגון טרם אישר מקרה בודד של H5N1.
