27-year-old Sapan Verma visited SBS Hindi studios in Melbourne when he came to Australia to perform at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

It was his first time in Australia but as part of East India Comedy Club, Verma has performed at numerous shows across India as well as internationally in Dubai, Singapore, China, Barcelona and New York.
Verma, originally from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, migrated to Mumbai with his family when young. He was good at studies but comedy is where his heart lied.

As a co-founder of East India Comedy Club, Sapan started as stand-up comedian in Mumbai almost 7 years ago.

“I host EIC Outrage, our online weekly news comedy series that has already crossed over 5 million views,” Sapan says.

His videos have gone viral on YouTube and he has thousands of followers on social media.
