Deepak-Raj Gupta, who migrated to Australia in 1989, made history in 2019 as the first Indian-born member elected to the ACT Legislative Assembly. Recently appointed as the National Chair of the Australia India Business Council (AIBC), Mr Gupta is focused on advancing Australia-India trade relations. With the economic partnership between the two nations evolving, he shares his vision for strengthening ties, addressing the long-pending free trade agreement, and navigating the opportunities and challenges that define this critical relationship.
