The Indonesian government finally opened Bali's Ngurah Rai Airport, for international flights, on Thursday 14 October 2021.

Although it does not immediately bring foreign tourists to Bali, at least this step has a strategic impact. Foreign tourists can directly fly to Bali, and enjoy the quarantine process there. Prior to this, international direct flights could only be made at Soekarno Hatta and Sam Ratulangi, Manado.

Lecturer and tourism observer from Warmadewa University, Bali, Dr I Made Suniastha Amerta said, of course it takes time and process for foreign tourists to return to Bali. But he welcomed this policy. Made Suniastha also reminded the Balinese people not to be euphoric, and to remain vigilant against COVID-19.

Foreign tourists are also expected to obey and understand the rules applied, for the sake of mutual safety.

The following is a complete interview with I Made Suniastha Amerta, regarding the opening of I Gusti Ngurah Rai international airport, Bali.
