Floods surrounded many areas in Kalimantan. Not only in a matter of days, at some points the flooding even lasted several weeks. Some are still happening.

President Jokowi has reviewed a number of flooded points. He said mining and oil palm plantations were one of the factors.
The Director of the South Kalimantan Forum for the Environment (Walhi), Kisworo Dwi Cahyono, discusses the issue of Kalimantan flooding in the following interview. Including how he evaluates the president's steps, which are considered slow in managing land damage in Kalimantan. The last presidential statement regarding mining and oil palm plantations is also considered not firm and strong enough to suppress corporate actions to clear forests in Kalimantan.
