On 14 February 2024, the Indonesian diaspora in Australia who were entitled to vote cast their votes in the 2024 presidential election.


The day before the election, SBS Indonesian interviewed Prof Vedi Hadiz, Director of Asian Studies at the Asia Institute, University of Melbourne, who is also Assistant Vice Chancellor for International Affairs at the University of Melbourne, about the dynamics of the election campaign in Indonesia when compared to Australia. What do the two officials think?
