Although it does not have a definite plan to utilize nuclear technology in the field of electric energy, but in fact Indonesia has already utilized nuclear technology in various fields, such as medicine and industry


With that long experience, Indonesia actually has enough capability to utilize nuclear technology, on a wider scale. However, for utilization in power generation, it may take greater political commitment.

Dr Nanang Triagung Edi Hermawan, Madya Radiation Supervisory Officer, Directorate of Radiation Facilities Supervision and Radioactive Substances, Nuclear Power Regulatory Agency (BAPETEN), outlined how Indonesia utilizes nuclear.
