Often we hear expressions about disrespectful or aggressive behavior towards girls, “boys will be boys” or “it's okay, he does it because he likes you”.


Although these expressions may seem harmless on the surface, subconsciously they normalize aggression as something inherent in boys or something provoked by girls, experts say.

Notall forms of incivility lead to violence, but we know that violence begins with disrespect. We can end this cycle by stopping it at the beginning.
