A step forward is being pioneered to create peace in Papua, which has been volatile since 1963. That step forward was the establishment of a Truth and Reconciliation Commission (KKR).


InAceh, KKR proved able to bring peace, after decades of armed conflict area.
However, KKR in Papua has its challenges. Professor of Law of Cenderawasih University, Papua, who also joined the formulation team of the establishment of KKR, Prof. Melkias Hetharia, explained about the formation process from the beginning to date. 
ProfMelkias Hetharia also hopes that KKR will be a way out of the conflict in Papua, as in other countries, such as South Africa.
