The National Commission on Human Rights said Pastor Yeremia Zanambani was shot dead, allegedly by the Indonesian National Army.
Komnas Ham said the shooting of Pastor Yeremia Zanambani must be put in the context of Papua as a whole.
This incident further proves that the security approach is not appropriate to solve problems in Papua and because of the weak law enforcement because when this kind of incident occurs there is no thorough investigation, firm sanctions, and evaluation of the security approach and military operations in Papua.
