Yoko Creber works at Schools for Specific Purposes as school learning support officer. She also works on weekends at JCS Japanese school city campus as special education teacher. Why did she start a class for children with special needs at the community language school?

The special needs class at JCS Japanese school city campus, which accepts students who need help with their Japanese language studies, began trials in 2023 and officially started as a class in 2024.

Ms Creber will be speaking at a free online seminar at the Japan Foundation Sydney on Saturday 8 February, where she hopes to share her experiences with other teachers and parents widely.

The seminar is open to parents and the general public as well as teachers and others involved in Japanese community language schools, but prior registration is required.
