Federal government establishes JobMaker scheme

Treasurer Josh Frydenberg has defended the Jobmaker scheme saying the unemployment rate is higher for younger workers compared to older employees.


Last night the JobMaker hiring credit passed parliament giving employers cash payments for hiring young workers aged under 35 years. 

Mr Frydenberg has rejected suggestions there are no safety measures in place to protect older workers, stating JobMaker is a win for young people.
