Urgent call for fresh investment in social housing

Charities are calling on fresh investment in social housing, fearing the number of families struggling to pay their mortgages could rise by 25 per cent in 2021.


A new report backed by several major charities has warned housing stress among  Australian families could rise by 24 per cent in 2021. 

Homelessness is forecast to rise by up to 9 per cent.

One solution pushed by advocates is a  new 7.2 billion-dollar Federal Government investment in new social housing.
