Newscorp is the latest media outlet under pressure

Newscorp Australia is shifting its community and regional papers online, putting jobs at risk. There are fears a digital only approach to reporting will put some newspapers a step closer towards total shutdowns. The print business has been under intense scrutiny and growing pressure in recent years. Falling print media revenues have been compounded by the COVID-19 lockdowns. The remodelled media landscape has taken several big hits this year alone. The future of Australian Associated press is in doubt, while Seven West Media has reduced wages by 20 percent.
