Salt water, garlic, vitamins, even whiskey. These are just some of the home remedy myths doing the rounds as people search for answers to the coronavirus. Many of these rumoured treatments are spreading in non-English speaking communities, in which daily government press briefings on COVID-19 aren't so easily translatable. Health officials warn there's a dangerous side to such speculative self-medication.
