On Wednesday, 29 November 2023, Maya Gurung and Surendra Pandey became the first same-sex couple in Nepal to have their marriage legally registered. Pinky Gurung, President of Blue Diamond Society Nepal spoke to SBS Nepali about the existing challenges for the country's LGBTIQ+ communities. Members of Australia's Nepali-speaking community also share their opinions on the topic.
