For Ujwal Poudel, life took an unexpected turn when he was diagnosed with blood cancer at the age of 20. As a newly arrived international student in Australia back in 2014, he remembers not knowing the exact meaning of 'leukemia'. After more than four years of treatment, he is now cancer-free and works towards raising awareness about the disease through a not-for-profit organisation, Simply Human - Superheroes without Capes. The organisation's founder Prerna Pahwa says many people are still in the shadow when it comes to cancer and its treatment. They spoke to SBS Nepali about Poudel's journey and the need for cancer awareness in Nepali as well as other migrant communities.
