New South Wales has recorded 594 new cases of community transmission to 8pm last night, and 10 deaths.
The Western NSW Local Health District has recorded 8 new cases — 3 in Orange, 2 in Cowra, 1 in Bathurst, 1 in Narromine and 1 in Wellington.
The Far West Local Health District has recorded just one new case in Broken Hill.
Victoria
In Victoria there were 1420 new locally acquired cases overnight, and 11 deaths. This brings the total number of active cases in the state to 14,410.
Regional Victoria recorded 80 new cases, including 15 in Greater Shepparton, 10 in Mitchell Shire, 10 in Ballarat, 8 in Latrobe, 7 in Moorabool and 4 in Mildura. This brings the total number of active cases in regional Victoria to 611.

For those in the Shepparton area, drive through COVID testing is available at the Rumbalara Aboriginal Co-Operative today, Thursday and Friday from 11am through to 4pm. No appointments required, just drive through to the rear of the centre on Rumbalara Road.
Goulburn Valley Health is also running a dedicated Moderna and second-dose Pfizer vaccination day this Sunday October 10 from 9am until 4pm. It’s a walk-in clinic, so no bookings are essential, and it’s available to everyone aged 12 years and up.
