Dr. Ramaswami (Ram) Mahalingam
Dr. Ramaswami (Ram) Mahalingam is a renowned cultural psychologist, award-winning researcher, teacher, mentor, artist, and filmmaker. His work (www.mindfuldignity.com) examines caste, gender, race, ethnicity, sexuality, and social class through critical cultural psychology, with a focus on power, marginality, and dignity using an intersectional lens. A Fellow of the American Psychological Association, Dr. Mahalingam has received numerous awards for his teaching, research, and mentorship, including the Tamil American Pioneer Award from FeTNA. He is the creator of the Banyan Tree Mindset, a holistic mindfulness framework emphasizing dignity and the interconnectedness of mental, physical, emotional, and social well-being. He recently visited Sydney and shared his insights with RaySel at the SBS studio.
