US actress Alyssa Milano has hit out at Matt Damon after his recent comments about sexual harassment in Hollywood.
Damon, the 47-year-old star of Good Will Hunting and The Bourne Identity series, was asked to discuss the current climate around sexual harassment allegations during an interview with US network ABC.
He was quick to condemn any inappropriate behaviour but said certain behaviour should not be lumped together.
"I do believe that there's a spectrum of behaviour," Damon said.
"And we're going to have to figure - you know, there's a difference between, you know, patting someone on the butt and rape or child molestation, right?
"Both of those behaviours need to be confronted and eradicated without question, but they shouldn't be conflated, right?"
The comments did not sit well with former Charmed star Milano who appeared to take aim at Damon's 'culture of outrage' remarks.
"Dear Matt Damon, It's the micro that makes the macro," she wrote on Twitter.
"We are in a "culture of outrage" because the magnitude of rage is, in fact, overtly outrageous. And it is righteous.
"We are not outraged because someone grabbed our asses in a picture. We are outraged because we were made to feel this was normal.
"We are outraged because we have been gaslighted. We are outraged because we were silenced for so long."
"Sexual harassment, misconduct, assault and violence is a systemic disease. The tumor is being cut out right now with no anesthesia. Please send flowers. #MeToo."
Milano was a prominent figure in helping promote the social media #MeToo campaign.
Actor and former co-star in Good Will Hunting, Minnie Driver, also took aim at his comments claiming men don't seem to understand what "abuse" is like on a daily level.
“I honestly think that until we get on the same page, you can’t tell a woman about their abuse. A man cannot do that...It is so individual and so personal, it’s galling when a powerful man steps up and starts dictating the terms, whether he intends it or not," she told The Guardian.
“If good men like Matt Damon are thinking like that then we’re in a lot of fucking trouble," she added.
