The wait is finally over.

You can now get meals for your four-legged friends delivered to your door, visit a bin chicken exhibition at the zoo, see a giant Alf Stewart wax figure, share your hotel bed with strangers for a cheaper rate and buy a weather-proof wedding dress.

But more excitingly - pizzas with no crusts, a McPickle burger, purple apples and candied pepperoni thick shakes are now on the menu.

Well, not really.

It's just a selection of jokes and bogus announcements doing the rounds on Monday for April Fools' Day.

For travellers keen to make new friends and save money, Travelodge Hotels offered a new bedshare service that could save you up to 50 per cent.

As well as sharing a room, towels, toilet paper and all other amenities are shared between guests.

A new exhibition featuring Australia's famous 'bin chicken' - also known as the white ibis - has also been promised by Wild Life Sydney Zoo.

In response to demand by international visitors, the zoo joked, five of the majestic, dumpster diving birds will have their own home at the zoo in Darling Harbour from Monday.

Menulog is sure to steal a pizza your hearts with MenuPet - a dedicated service to deliver meals to your four-legged friends.

In other pizza news, Deliveroo is saying ciao to crusts - removing all crust options from its app due to overwhelming anti-crust customer feedback.

Other April Fools' Day pranks include:

* Sportsbet and the NSW government setting up a multi-million dollar deal sponsorship deal that would see the Sydney Opera House sails turn blue every day.

* Every NSW police station will have a police cat.

* Outdoor retail shop Kathmandu has created the world's first all-weather, all-terrain wedding dress.
