A confronting new campaign has been launched to reduce the shocking rates of violence against Australian women and children.
The national advertising blitz is aimed at shocking parents and adult role models into realising what they say and do in front of children can lead to disrespect against women.
"If we need to shock people into changing attitudes and behaviours, we're absolutely going to do everything that we need to do to get the right outcomes," Minister for Women Kelly O'Dwyer said.
The first instalment of a "Stop it at the Start" campaign to reduce domestic and family violence has been viewed more than 43 million times since 2016.
Research suggests more than two-thirds of adults who saw the campaign took action and started to change their attitudes towards abuse.
A second phase will be aired across all platforms including television, radio and social media from this Sunday.
