Cash to reboot East Perth Power Station

East Perth Power Station will have $30 million worth of works done on it to regenerate the heritage-listed site.

It has sat abandoned for decades, but the East Perth Power Station could finally be regenerated under a $30 million state government boost.

The 2019-20 WA state budget will include cash for the 103-year-old heritage-listed building for site works to de-constrain the site of the energy infrastructure that currently services the Perth CBD.

The station stopped working in 1981 and the previous Liberal National government put out for expressions of interest to develop the site four years ago, but the process stalled.
