Coalition to release election plan costs

The Liberal-National coalition is preparing to release figures laying out exactly how much Scott Morrison's election commitments will cost.

Treasurer Josh Frydenberg is set to release the coalition's costings just after a pre-election media blackout begins, and two days out from the poll.

Labor released its figures last Friday, setting a record for the time gap between election day and the publication of opposition policy costings.

Mr Frydenberg said the price tag for most of the coalition's plans were included in the federal budget delivered on April 2.

However, there was a need to update the figures for policies released during the election campaign.

"We have submitted all of those documents to Treasury and Finance which is the normal course of it," he told Sky News on Wednesday.

"Our spending through this campaign has been minimal compared to what Labor's high spending has been."

Shadow treasurer Chris Bowen said releasing costings two days out from the election is "pathetic".

"Last time they did that was 2013, and of course, the real cuts came in the 2014 budget," Mr Bowen told reporters in Perth.

"I mean, absolutely pathetic on their behalf."

He said Mr Frydenberg needed to spell out the coalition's $40 billion in "hidden cuts" in the budget, as well as admit high income earners would receive at least $77 billion of the benefit of proposed tax cuts.
