* A series of YouGov Galaxy polls for marginal seats published in News Corp were released at hourly intervals throughout the day.

- Deakin (Lib, 6.4 per cent) 51-49 to Liberal Michael Sukkar

- Flynn (LNP 1.04 per cent) 53-47 to LNP's Ken O'Dowd

- Macquarie (ALP 2.2 per cent) 53-57 to Labor's Susan Templeman

- La Trobe (Lib 3.2 per cent) 50-50

- Forde (LNP 0.6 per cent) 50-50

- Reid (Lib 4.7 per cent) 52-48 to the Liberals where the incumbent is retiring

- Higgins (Lib 7.4 per cent against Greens) 52-48 to the Liberals where the incumbent is also retiring

- Herbert (ALP 0.02 per cent) 50-50

- Gilmore (Lib 0.7 per cent) 52-48 to Labor's Fiona Phillips

* An Ipsos poll for The Australian Financial Review put Labor ahead of the coalition 51 to 49.

* And Burt, the psychic crocodile and part-time NT News election analyst, has predicted a resounding Labor victory.

WHAT MADE NEWS:

* A pair of Rwandan men accused of murdering western tourists have reportedly been settled in Australia, with the prime minister saying anyone who comes to live here is subject to security checks.

* The coalition says it will more than offset the cost of its election promises by keeping the two per cent public service efficiency dividend in place for another two years.
