The passenger card details of under-siege minister Stuart Robert won't be revealed for privacy reasons, parliament has been told.

Immigration Minister Peter Dutton says it would be wrong for him to provide the airline passenger card details of a ministerial colleague.

Labor used question time on Tuesday to find out whether Stuart Robert's passenger card stated he was on business or a private trip when he made a controversial visit to China in 2014.

Mr Dutton told parliament it would not be appropriate for him to check such details "because of the privacy issues involved".
