The prime minister will be announcing more than $42 million towards mental health services for young and indigenous people.

Labor is revamping the successful Slip, Slop, Slap campaign by pledging $8.6 million to Cancer Council Australia.

WHAT IS MAKING NEWS:

* Labor candidate for the Western Australian seat of Curtin Melissa Parke has stepped down from the election over her pro-Palestine stance.

WHAT THEY SAID?

"Curtin wasn't a seat, while we fight for every vote and seat, wasn't a seat we were expecting to win. Melissa Parke has done the right thing in standing aside.."
