One Nation founder Pauline Hanson looks unlikely to snatch the Brisbane seat of Lockyer from sitting LNP rival Ian Rickuss.

Ms Hanson was leading the poll on Tuesday but by Wednesday morning Mr Rickuss had edged back ahead with 50.44 per cent of the votes.

According to the Queensland Electoral Commission website more than 80 per cent of the votes in Lockyer have now been counted.

Five seats, including Lockyer, are still in doubt as counting continues.

The result may not be known until early next week when all the postal votes are counted.

Labor now looks likely to secure 44 seats, one shy of the 45 needed for the party to govern in its own right.
