Indigenous tertiary student numbers jump

Around 1000 more indigenous students enrolled in tertiary education in 2015 than 2014, a jump of 7.6 per cent.

Indigenous enrolment in tertiary education jumped more than seven per cent in 2015.

Almost 1000 more indigenous students enrolled in higher education in 2015 than 2014, boosting the numbers from 12,730 to 13,692, the federal government's 2015 first-half-year student data says.

Indigenous enrolment represented 1.13 per cent of overall student numbers in 2015, still less than half the proportion of indigenous Australians.
