The battle for Wentworth is getting heated with incumbent MP Dr Kerryn Phelps and Liberal candidate Dave Sharma alleging their posters have been stolen.

On Saturday Dr Phelps tweeted: "Up to their dirty tricks again. Hundreds of our posters were stolen within a week of them being put up around the electorate."

"@LiberalAUs posters strangely remain in place. Desperate tactics. Here we go again."
Mr Sharma has denied he had any involvement with the removal of Dr Phelps' posters and said some of his posters had been stolen overnight, according to the ABC.

"I completely reject Dr Phelps' intimation that me or my team had anything to do with the removal of posters," he said in a statement.

"It's nothing more than an unfounded and baseless allegation."
Wentworth, in eastern Sydney, is held by Dr Phelps on a margin of one per cent after she won it from the Liberals in a by-election following Malcolm Turnbull's exit.
