Major expansion to harassment survey

Minister for Women Kelly O'Dwyer has announced a wider national survey to gauge the extent of sexual harassment in the workplace.

The number of women taking part in a national survey on sexual harassment in the workplace will be expanded from 2000 to 10,000.

The Sex Discrimination Commissioner has conducted a survey on sexual harassment in the workplace every five years over the past 15 years.

"This very important work needs to be updated to ensure we know how widespread sexual harassment is across workplaces and the nature of this harassment," Minister for Women Kelly O'Dwyer told the National Press Club on Tuesday.
