NFL star accused of trashing mansion

Carolina NFL star Cam Newton has been accused of causing nearly $US100,000 damage to a property he rented in Beverly Hills.

Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton is reportedly being sued for trashing a home the NFL star rented in March from the husband of former WWE wrestler Stacy Keibler.

TMZ reported that Newton, who lost this year's Super Bowl in February with the Panthers, is being sued for approximately $US270,000 ($A354,000).

According to the report, Newton rented an $US11 million ($A14 million) Beverly Hills home from a rental company managed by Jared Pobre.

It's alleged Newton caused $US90,000 ($A118,125) during post-Super Bowl parties.

Newton paid $US123,000 ($A161,438) for the 61 days he stayed at the mansion and agreed he would not host any parties in the house.

The suit claims a refrigerator was broken, an expensive rug was ruined and the floor sustained water damage.

Meanwhile, New York Giants mercurial wide receiver Odell Beckham has lashed out following his NFL career-worst performance against the Minnesota Vikings on Monday night.

Beckham was limited to three catches for 23 yards in a 24-10 loss to the Vikings on Tuesday.

"I just have to understand if I sneeze the wrong way, it'll be a flag, it'll be a fine," Beckham said.

"If I tie my shoe the wrong way, it might be a fine or a flag."

Beckham, who has been fined six times in his two-plus seasons, has been under the microscope since his actions against then-Carolina Panthers star Josh Norman last year in a game that featured five unsportsmanlike conduct penalties between the two.

Elsewhere, Dallas Cowboys guard La'el Collins is out for the season with a right big toe injury that will require surgery and typically carries a recovery time of up to six months.
