Pauline Hanson's One Nation party has South Australia's next state election in its sights.
The party has revealed it is now working on registering members in SA so it can run candidates in the 2018 election.
One Nation's state administrator Steve Burgess, who was on the senate ticket for this year's federal election, says the party wants to tackle issues that are "very bad for business" in SA.
"South Australia has some serious problems with regards to unemployment, electricity and rates and charges," he told AAP.
"We've got a lot of work to do and there's a lot of room for improvement."
The party needs at least 200 members in SA so it can register with the Electoral Commission and run candidates in the upper and lower house in 2018.
Mr Burgess said the party is more than halfway to the goal and expects to hit it in the new year, when it will start a careful vetting process to find candidates.
And the mechanic, who has run his own businesses for 25 years, said he could still have a shot at an SA senate spot after the High Court rules on Family First senator Bob Day's eligibility.
"Whether it's myself or whether it's the Labor candidate who is also hopeful, we'll have to wait and see," he said.
Mr Burgess said the party's crack at SA's state election will bear little resemblance to its run in 2010 when Pauline Hanson was not at the helm.
He said along with One Nation's holistic approach to fixing the state's problems, it will be the leader that gets the party over the line.
"The edge in the state will be Pauline Hanson, her profile and how people perceive her and her ideals," he said.
"You just have to admire anyone of any political persuasion who is that passionate about their country and is prepared to go back into the fire."
