Innovation Minister Christopher Pyne is in Israel to learn about its start-up entrepreneur culture.

Mr Pyne met with Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem on Monday, following the release last week of the federal government's $1.1 billion innovation package.

Under the plan $36 million will go towards a global innovation fund including five "landing pads" overseas for start up entrepreneurs, with one to be located in Tel Aviv.
