The South Australian opposition will spend $60 million establishing an international culinary school on the old Royal Adelaide Hospital site if the Liberals win the March state election.
The new centre will move Adelaide's Le Cordon Bleu campus and other TAFE hospitality programs currently offered in the northern suburbs, into one school of excellence, Opposition Leader Steven Marshall says.
"We want this new site to be a beacon for international students and a great employer for South Australians," Mr Marshall told reporters on Monday.
The opposition leader said only 3.7 per cent of international students in hospitality courses were studying in Adelaide and a new centralised location would make the state much more attractive.
"It will create dollars coming in from overseas that we so desperately need for our economy," Mr Marshall said.
The hospitality site comes after the Liberals also promised $27.5 million, on Monday, to create a business start-up precinct on the site.
Infrastructure Minister Stephen Mullighan said the plan was simply election spin.
"They've had seven different positions on this," he said.
"The Liberal Party is in blind panic to come up with a plan for the old Royal Adelaide Hospital site."
The old Royal Adelaide Hospital was closed last year after the opening of a new $2.3 billion facility.
Labor has pledged to turn part of the site into a start-up hub focusing on artificial intelligence, robotics and renewable energy.
