St Kilda have received a huge boost ahead of their pivotal AFL clash with Brisbane, with star duo Dan Hannebery and Jake Carlisle called into the side for the first time this season.

Hannebery will play his first game for the Saints since crossing from Sydney after overcoming persistent soft-tissue injuries, while Carlisle has recovered from back surgery he underwent in March.

Brandon White picked up an injury in last week's four-point win over Gold Coast in Townsville, while veteran defender Nathan Brown has been dropped.

The Lions included Allen Christensen, Ryan Lester and Oscar McInerney for Saturday's Marvel Stadium encounter, with Lewis Taylor out injured and Archie Smith and Nick Robertson dropped.

Jarryd Roughead's VFL exile is over, with the former Hawthorn skipper included along with Harry Morrison for Friday's clash with Sydney at the SCG.

Captain Ben Stratton is suspended and James Cousins was dropped.

The Swans regained Josh Kennedy, Will Hayward and Zak Jones, but lost Jarrad McVeigh to injury and dropped Jackson Thurlow and Tom McCartin.

Port Adelaide coach Ken Hinkley made some big changes at selection, dropping Sam Powell-Pepper, Paddy Ryder and Justin Westhoff.

Jarrod Lienert was also left out after last week's loss to Fremantle, the Power boosted by Brad Ebert, Charlie Dixon, Ollie Wines and Joel Garner for Saturday night's encounter with Geelong at Adelaide Oval.

The ladder-leading Cats lost Esava Ratugolea to injury and brought in Darcy Fort.

Melbourne have suffered a blow with star defender Jake Lever out of Saturday's match against Fremantle at the MCG with a knee injury.

Michael Hibberd and Jeff Garlett are also hurt, with Charlie Spargo omitted, Jay Lockhart, Alex Neal-Bullen, Harrison Petty and Tim Smith included.

The Dockers stuck with the same 22 that ran over the top of Port Adelaide at Optus Stadium.

Josh Schache, Rhylee West and Taylor Duryea are among seven inclusions to an extended Western Bulldogs squad for Sunday's clash with Collingwood at Marvel Stadium.

Ben Reid and Josh Daicos are among the inclusions for the Pies, who lost Jaidyn Stephenson to a 10-week gambling ban.
