Gold Coast are on the verge of regaining key players Jarrod Harbrow and Touk Miller for their AFL home clash with North Melbourne.

Coach Stuart Dew is confident that the pair will ease their spate of injuries as the Suns try to break a seven-game losing streak.

Harbrow did not play in last weekend's heavy loss to GWS because of a groin problem and Miller has been out of action for three weeks with a heel injury.

"Both are a really good chance this week," Dew said.

"Tick a few boxes in the next three days and that'll give them every chance."

Jack Bowes is their latest casualty, with the midfielder to miss about two months because of a quad injury he suffered in the 83-point belting from the Giants.

The Suns have two golden opportunities ahead of their mid-season bye, with the Metricon Stadium game against the Kangaroos followed by next weekend's match against struggling St Kilda in Townsville.

Saturday's match will also mean Dew crosses paths again with North interim coach Rhyce Shaw.

Dew was an assistant coach at Sydney for the end of Shaw's playing career and is not surprised the new North coach has made a strong start.

While the Suns are struggling, Shaw engineered a massive upset win over Richmond last Friday night in his senior coaching debut.

"He's a humble man, a great communicator and been around footy a long time," Dew said.

"I've worked with him a lot and think he's a great coach.

"They've got a beauty in Rhyce, that's for sure."
